Follett Content Team Raises Funds for CASA of McHenry County Through Employee Bookstore

How a shared love of reading helped bring advocacy and support to children facing abuse or neglect

McHenry, Ill. – June 24, 2026 – Follett Content, a leading provider of PreK-12 literacy resources, announced a $1,013 donation to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McHenry County, generated through proceeds from employee purchases at Edythe’s Book Nook (EBN), its internal employee bookstore.

The contribution marks the first charitable donation since EBN reopened in April, coinciding with Child Abuse Prevention Month and adding significance to the initiative.

Through each purchase, Follett Content employees supported CASA of McHenry County’s mission to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers play a critical role in ensuring children in the court system have a dedicated advocate focused on their safety and long-term well-being.

Follett Content CEO Britten Follett emphasized the organization’s personal importance, shaped by earlier experience in television news.

“I’m personally very passionate about the organization. From my days as a television reporter, I’ve seen that when it’s functioning properly, the role of an organization like CASA can play an important role in a child’s life and safety,” said Follett.

The initiative highlights how small, everyday actions can create meaningful impact. By turning a shared love of reading into tangible support, Follett Content employees helped extend advocacy to children who need it most – reinforcing the company’s commitment to literacy and programs that help change the trajectory of children’s lives.

Each book purchased became more than a simple transaction – it became a step toward ensuring that vulnerable children have a voice, a dedicated advocate, and the opportunity for a safer future.

Follett Content is proud to support CASA of McHenry County and its mission to ensure no child has to navigate the system alone.
