Every June, we take time to recognize the vast beauty, power, and importance of our planet’s oceans during National Ocean Month. This month-long celebration is an opportunity to raise awareness about the essential role oceans play in our environment – from regulating climate and providing food to supporting an incredible range of biodiversity. One key highlight of the month is World Ocean Day on June 8, a global movement to protect and preserve our shared blue planet.
To join the celebration, I’ve put together a collection of 23 inspiring and informative books that explore everything from the mysteries of the deep sea and the fascinating creatures that live there to the scientists, explorers, and conservationists who have dedicated their lives to studying and protecting our oceans.
These books are perfect for readers of all ages who want to dive deeper into the ocean’s wonders. You’ll find stories of discovery, adventure, and action – ideal for sparking curiosity and encouraging young readers to become ocean stewards.

Let’s celebrate, learn, and take action together – for the oceans, and for our future.
