Summer Reading: New Ideas for Exciting Engagement

FEB

20

Join dynamic, award-winning librarian Carrie Friday as she walks us through her proven plans and ideas for summer reading. It's the perfect time to get your own plans in place, place book orders, and strategize before the end of the school year.

Carrie will reflect on her summer reading ideas that have garnered the most interest and produced the best results in building engagement in all types of readers – from the uninterested to the most voracious. As Carrie knows, all students need new ideas and challenges, especially over the summer. She will share strategies and the steps involved to help you develop your own summer reading program and avoid the "summer slide" in Grades 6-12.

Secure your spot now and learn everything you need to know, including a new understanding of summer reading challenges, book lists, incentive programs, social media campaigns, possible summer library hours, and more.

Attendees will learn ideas for:

  • Creative options for summer reading programs
  • Interesting YA reading lists ready to distribute to students and families
  • Possible funding options for summer programs and incentives
  • Options and possibilities for a summer of literacy
