Follett Content is now serving public libraries – here's what you need to know.

BY FOLLETT CONTENT

You may know Follett Content as a trusted partner for K-12 school libraries. But we’ve expanded our reach, and public libraries are at the center of that growth.

If you’re a public librarian evaluating vendors, exploring options for adult book fulfillment, or simply looking for a reliable way to get new adult titles to your patrons on release day, here’s what we now offer – and why it matters for your library.

Why Follett Content is Entering the Public Library Market

Public libraries serve patrons of all ages, and the demand for adult materials, including fiction, nonfiction, best-sellers, and popular series represent the majority of a public library’s print budget.

With the departure of a big player in the library distribution space, there’s a significant and unmet need for a vendor who can reliably fulfill adult print titles for public libraries – particularly new releases and street date titles. Follett Content is stepping in to fill that gap.

What Follett Content Now Offers For Public Libraries

Follett Content is building a full adult book offering for the public library market, beginning with two core offerings:

  • Adult titles in Titlewave®. Follett Content’s collection development and ordering platform, Titlewave, now features adult titles including backlist, best-sellers, and new releases. Public librarians can search, evaluate, and order adult print titles alongside their children’s and teen materials in one place.
  • The Follett Street Date Program. This is a dedicated preorder program for select new adult titles, with committed pre-street-date delivery. Libraries that order at least 60 days before a title's release date receive books that are shelf-ready – cataloged and processed – before the publisher’s street date.

What Makes the Follett Street Date Program Different

Not every adult title in Titlewave is part of the street date program – and that distinction matters. Street date titles are clearly marked in Titlewave with a green availability indicator, the publisher’s street date, and a preorder cutoff date. Regular preorder titles are available to order but don’t carry a guaranteed delivery date.

Each week, Follett Content features up to 20 curated, highly anticipated new adult titles available for street date preorder. The list is updated weekly and spans popular fiction, nonfiction, and high-demand genres, so your collection stays current with what patrons are asking for.

Get books into patron hands on release day – not days later. That’s what the Follett Street Date Program is built to do.

Shelf-ready delivery. One vendor. Across publishers.

One of the consistent pain points for public librarians managing adult acquisitions has been the complexity of sourcing new releases across multiple publishers and channels. Books arrive at different times, in separate shipments, unprocessed and unready for the shelf.

The Follett Street Date Program consolidates that process. Titles are sourced, processed, and shipped shelf-ready through a single vendor, so your staff spends less time in the back room and more time serving patrons.

Ready to explore what Follett Content can offer your public library?

Whether you’re looking for a reliable source for adult titles, a better way to manage new release preorders, or a committed partner for street date fulfillment, Follett Content is ready to support your public library.
