What We're Reading – #BritReads Edition

BY BRITTEN FOLLETT

Each year, I document my #BritReads reading journey on my social media channels and now I’m taking it to blog format! Below you’ll find a list of the books I’m currently enjoying – watch this space for other Follett Content employee picks! To read my final review on each book, follow me on Instagram @brittenfollett! The Bletchley Riddle

By Ruta Sepetys and Steve Sheinkin

Releases October 8, 2024 (I'm reading an Advanced Reader Copy)

I hosted a Follett Content team member Lunch and Learn with the authors and have loved nearly all of Ruta Sepetys’ books. Having read The Rose Code, I am fascinated by the Bletchley house and that era of World War II. The authors’ attention to detail and preservation of the time period is extremely well done. I can’t wait to find out whether they discover the secret behind their mom’s disappearance!

The Housemaid

By Freida McFadden

I always enjoy reading an author’s breakout book, because in most cases it is truly a labor of love. I have read nearly every Freida McFadden title except for this one because it is not available on audiobook in my library. So, I am reading the paper version when I have free time.

A Calamity of Souls

By David Baldacci

I have read nearly every David Baldacci book since I first discovered him after college. I met him at ALA Conference and told him my favorite book he has ever written is The Winner. I am almost done with this one and am enjoying it as it is a deviation from his typical suspenseful writing style and storylines.

The Disappeared

By Rebecca Sanford

I know the author personally and have been following her publishing journey for this debut novel. The writing style is beautiful, and I can't wait to finish it so I can call Rebecca and ask her what portions of the story are wholly based on true characters and where she took fictional liberties.
