Join Hannah Irion-Frake, or “Mrs. IF,” for this engaging presentation designed to help you incorporate decodable texts into your elementary classroom and to help all students become successful readers. Decodable texts are a key component in a structured literacy classroom, and Hannah will share how she uses them and sets up a classroom that fosters engagement and true science-based literacy learning. Hannah is an experienced classroom teacher and advocate for teaching reading, and she will share strategies for using decodable texts that you can immediately implement in your classroom!

Attendees will learn ideas:
• Key features of decodable texts and how they differ from other types of texts used for literacy instruction
• How to match decodable texts to a phonics scope and sequence
• Components of a phonics lesson plan, including the use of decodable texts
• Where decodable texts fit into overall classroom literacy instruction
• How to use decodables in small groups and read-alouds
• How decodables fit as part of classroom libraries
