Follett Develops Donor Program to Help Rebuild School Libraries Destroyed by Hurricane Harvey

Donations Accepted Through October 2; Goal is $15,000

MCHENRY, IL – In the wake of the considerable damage suffered by Texas K-12 school libraries and archives from Hurricane Harvey, Follett has established a donation program with a preliminary goal of $15,000. Monetary donations will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 2.

“We hope to far exceed the $15,000 goal, which will be divided among the most impacted schools as identified by the Texas Library Association’s Texas Library Recovery Connection,” said Britten Follett, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Classroom Initiatives for Follett. “This is an opportunity to help provide students with the materials they need, and had, before the hurricane hit.”

She added donations can be made through Titlewish™, a free online donation program that allows schools to use 100 percent of the donated funds to purchase materials from Follett, which for more than 140 years has been a trusted provider of educational resources to K-12 institutions. The company has committed to add another 10 percent on top of the donations received.
