Follett Book Fairs Poised for Superpower Fall Season

MCHENRY, ILL – Follett is encouraging students to embrace their inner superhero as part of the fall 2019 theme for Follett Book Fairs. With more than 3,000 fairs already scheduled for Follett Book Fairs’ fifth season, the company has introduced the superhero theme to remind students, teachers, and librarians that “Reading is a Superpower.”

“As we continue to focus on our mission to get books into the hands of all kids, we’re all embracing our own inner superhero as we work to make our fair better than ever before,” said Tony Hopkins, Senior Vice President of Follett Book Fairs.

To that extent, Follett Book Fairs will continue to leverage their existing partnerships with authors Kwame Alexander and James Patterson. The renowned authors are bringing their mission of spreading a love of reading to Follett Book Fairs, Hopkins said, as well as embracing Follett’s “All Books for All Kids” initiative. The initiative debuted last year with the goal of ensuring students are exposed to a wide range of books that take them beyond their own experiences and background.

Because of its existing partnerships with thousands of publishers, Follett Book Fairs offer a vast selection of books, kindergarten through eighth grade. That is again the case for the fall season as the lineup will include picture books, graphic novels, nonfiction, craft books, do-it-yourself, sports, Spanish language titles, and many more. Among the 14 titles exclusive to Follett Book Fairs’ fall season are Guinness World Records 2020 and Nature’s Deadliest Creatures.

To expedite book deliveries to those schools with scheduled fairs, plus provide for quick replenishment when inventories on popular books run low, Follett is opening the doors on five new fulfillment centers. The new centers are located in or near Philadelphia, Orlando, Dallas, Chicago and San Bernardino, Calif. In addition, Follett Book Fairs has expanded its fleet of trucks to 14. The trucks feature artwork of students’ favorite book characters riding a school bus and are emblazoned with the tagline, “Delivering Inspiration, Sparking Curiosity.”
