LOCAL BUSINESS DONATES SALES TO KIDS IN NEED

Follett Content helps local children through its employee bookstore.

McHenry, Ill., Apr. 10, 2025 – Edythe's Book Nook, the employee bookstore of McHenry’s Follett Content, is proud to announce the donation of $1,300 from its January and February 2025, sales to Kids in Need McHenry County. This generous contribution will support the organization's mission to provide essential resources and support to foster children in the community.

Kids in Need McHenry County is dedicated to improving the lives of foster children by offering programs and services that address their unique needs. The donation from Edythe's Book Nook will help fund educational materials, clothing, and other necessities, ensuring that these children have the support they need to thrive.

Opened in November 2022, the purpose of the employee bookstore is to not only offer books to team members at discounted prices, but to use the proceeds from sales to support the local community. Edythe’s Book Nook  is named in honor of Edythe Benepe – great-great-grandmother to Britten Follett. She was a journalist for a Chicago newspaper when in 1901 she met and later married C.W. Follett, founder of Follett Corporation. The couple had four sons all the while Edythe worked full time running one of the Follett bookstores.
