AAPI Heritage Month

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is a time to recognize and honor the significant contributions, rich cultures, and diverse histories of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the United States. This month highlights the resilience, achievements, and leadership of these communities throughout history.

This year's theme, "A Legacy of Leadership and Resilience," underscores the perseverance and strength that have defined these communities for generations. From trailblazing activists and political leaders to groundbreaking artists, educators, and innovators, the community has continually shaped American society in profound ways.

To support K-12 educators and students in learning about and appreciating AAPI heritage, Follett curators have handpicked a collection of engaging and educational titles. These books provide insight into Asian American and Pacific Islander history, cultural traditions, and personal stories that inspire and empower young learners. By incorporating these titles into classrooms and libraries, educators can foster greater understanding, inclusivity, and appreciation for the individuals in our lives and communities.

This May, take the time to explore these stories, celebrate AAPI voices, and honor the enduring legacy of leadership and resilience that continues to shape our world.
