Follett Content Introduces Free Book List Notifications for Public Libraries

Fri. October 23, 2026

New time-saving program delivers librarian-selected book lists through Titlewave® featuring titles for adults, teens, and children

McHenry, Ill., 10/23/2026 – Follett Content has introduced the Follett List Notification Program, a free service that helps public library selectors keep up with forthcoming books, popular authors, and titles earning starred reviews. Curated book lists arrive directly in librarians’ Titlewave® accounts, saving librarians time and effort by reducing searching. Email alerts are sent when new lists become available.

“We’re listening to public librarians and evolving our services around what they tell us they need,” said Britten Follett, CEO of Follett Content. “The Follett List Notification Program takes some of the searching out of collection development by delivering curated title lists directly into the workflow librarians already use. It gives them more time to connect people with books, ideas, and stories that matter to their communities, while keeping every purchasing decision in their hands.”

Librarians choose the audience levels and list types that match their collection priorities, then review recommendations and decide which titles to purchase. Subscribing does not place orders or enroll librarians in auto-shipments.

The program offers 10 list options across adult, teen/young adult, and children’s and audience levels, organized into four categories:

Follett Street Date Program: Weekly lists of select high-demand fiction and nonfiction available for preorder, with delivery ahead of the publisher’s release date.Fundamentals: Monthly lists of must-have prepublication titles from key publishers, often available before review citations appear.Starred Reviews: Monthly lists of titles that have earned at least one starred review from an industry-leading book review journal.Popular Authors: Monthly lists of new releases from more than 700 tracked authors across audience levels. The Follett Content public library team curates each list to help selectors identify titles relevant to their communities. Library staff can edit the lists in Titlewave and evaluate selections against collection development policies, existing holdings, patron demand, and budgets before ordering.

For libraries preparing for anticipated releases, Street Date lists also support early ordering and processing so books can be ready to circulate on publication day.

“Thanks to the Follett Street Date Program, we now have these books a full week and a half before their publication dates,” said Melanie Bruchet, Assistant Director at Mahwah Public Library in New Jersey, describing her library’s first Street Date Program shipment.

There’s no fee to receive Follett List Notifications, and creating a Titlewave account is free. To enroll, public library staff provide their Titlewave username and select their preferred audience levels and lists through the program’s sign-up form. Street Date lists are provided weekly, and all others are shared monthly – starting November 1. Librarians can update their selections at any time by resubmitting the form.

For more information or to enroll, visit the Follett List Notification Program page. Librarians who need a Titlewave account can register for free.
