Follett, World Book Announce Winners of 'Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway'

MCHENRY, Ill., May 31, 2023 North Carolina’s Jamie Holder and Virginia’s Justina Dyson have been randomly selected as winners of the “Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway,” sponsored by Follett Content Solutions and World Book — two longtime, respected leaders in the PreK-12 education market.

Holder is a family and consumer science teacher at Lumberton High School in Lumberton, N.C., while Dyson is a PreK teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Preschool Center in Richmond, Va.

The two educators each will receive a $2,000 American Express® gift card and a $500 Follett Titlewave® gift certificate. Founded 25 years ago, Titlewave is the leading online collection development and curriculum support tool for PreK-12 educators, with more than 14,000 daily users.

“I am thankful and grateful that I am an educator,” said Holder, whose high school is part of Public Schools of Robeson County. “Throughout my career, I found out that my future depends upon my education. Without an education we have no future. I greatly appreciate Follett and World Book for recognizing educators.”

According to Britten Follett, CEO, Follett Content Solutions, teachers repeatedly demonstrate that their students come first.

Just seven days a year to celebrate teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week is hardly sufficient,” Follett said. “After all, they celebrate our students’ wins and teach them lessons through their mistakes every day of the school year. By partnering with our friends at World Book for this giveaway, we hope our two winners will be able to recoup some of the personal balance they sacrifice before continuing their important work.”

Eddy Kisman, Vice President of International for World Book, said his company and Follett share a vision of making the lives of teachers and learners easier.

“Teachers play a vital role in shaping our youth, which directly impacts our communities, environment, and world,” Kisman said. “We believed it was important to show our appreciation in a big way and allow our educators the time to recharge. World Book and Follett congratulate our two winners!”

The giveaway was open to PreK-12 teachers in the United States as part of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8-12.
